Alumni: Keji Mustapha
Keji is a self-confessed fashion, culture and art junkie. Having begun her career in law and gone on to qualify as a barrister, Keji found that her true passions lay in the creative fields and after a series of internships at a number of esteemed publications – including Sunday Times Style – PR and Lifestyle companies, the next natural step was to turn her hobbies of styling, writing and event planning into freelance work. Often found moonlighting as a stylist, over the last seven years has worked on a advertorials, ad campaigns, window displays and personal wardrobe revamps, too. She joined the Sketchbook team in 2009 and what initially began as the occasional contribution to Sketchbook, later turned into a genuine love of ethos and vision of the magazine, and the brand as a whole. Keji has worked in several capacities ranging from assisting with events planning; reviewing fashion culture happenings in and around London; to temporarily holding the position of interim Editor-at-Large in London between 2010 and 2011; and continues to contribute to date.
Keji counts the likes of Balenciaga, Lanvin and YSL as designer favourites but as a self-confessed Chanel-aholic, if she had one wish, would love nothing more than to enjoy some afternoon tea with Coco herself. Her Sketchbook is filled with quotes; notes; anecdotes; doodles; lists and everything else.
